How to use CS2 Coach

Follow these steps to import matches, parse demos, and get coach insights from your games.

Sign in

Use an email magic link or Continue with Steam on the login page (invite-only guest list). Email is the primary account recovery path. Steam can be linked later from Account in the profile menu.

Your avatar and display name are saved to your profile. Demos and stats stay linked to your persistent account id.

Account identity

Open the profile menu (your avatar) → Account to:

• Confirm or change your email login (once per month; confirm via magic link)
• Link Steam (required for Steam match import, Coach Insights, achievements, and Steam-keyed profile pages)

Steam import credentials are managed on Match Sources. Full Steam login unlink remains an API operation (`DELETE /auth/steam`) when email is confirmed.

Add your Steam authentication code

CS2 Coach needs your Game Authentication Code to download match demos from Steam.

1. In Steam, open Account → Manage → Game account details
2. Copy your authentication code
3. In CS2 Coach, open Match Sources in the sidebar
4. Paste the code into Game authentication code
5. Continue with the forward sync match token below (or save both together with Save Steam settings)

Add your forward sync match token

On Match Sources, paste a recent match share code so CS2 Coach knows where to start importing your history.

1. In CS2, open Watch → Your Matches
2. Copy a share code (format: `CSGO-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX`)
3. On Match Sources, paste it into Forward sync match token
4. Turn on Enable Steam auto upload
5. Click Save Steam settings

CS2 Coach checks for new demos about every five minutes. If import stops updating, paste a fresh share code and save again.

Connect FACEIT (optional)

Link FACEIT to pull league matches into the same Match History.

1. Open Match Sources, or use the setup guide on Match History
2. Click Connect FACEIT and sign in when the popup opens (allow popups if your browser blocks them)

Match details sync from FACEIT. If a demo is not available from FACEIT, you can upload one yourself — see the FAQ.

Upload a demo to Match Lab

Use Match Lab for demos you want to inspect without affecting ratings or stats — for example a pro match.

1. Open Match Lab
2. Drop one or more `.dem` files (or choose files)
3. Open the match for the scoreboard, or start the replay when parsing finishes

Lab uploads are linked only to your account. Removing your Lab entry does not remove the same match from another user’s Lab or from Match History.

To repair a FACEIT match that is missing a demo, open that match from Match History and upload there instead.

Disconnect a match source

On Match Sources, you can disconnect FACEIT or clear Steam import credentials. Already imported matches stay in Match History; only future sync from that source stops.

View coach insights

Open Coach Insights in the sidebar for summaries and tips based on your recent games. Insights appear after demos are parsed.

For round-by-round detail, open any match in Match History to see the scoreboard and match report.
